I have better alternatives already & I’ve been reluctant after test-driving this in the past. Honestly, I bought Diagrammix - at discount. I don’t know why people compare $200 apps to a $14 app as though they really are equivalent alternatives! There is no comparison between this & OmniGraffle by any stretch of the imagination, or even some of the alternatives people have suggested. If you encounter any problems with dia, please read through the FAQ first. The download page provides download packages for Mac OS X and Linux as well as information about Dia on older Windows versions. It appears to keep a version of each style. The current Dia release has been tested successfully on Windows 8.1, 8, 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP, Linux and Mac OS X. Being able to switch styles is nice (though the style choices are limited). Hotkeys for entering text, etc is convenient & easy. ![]() I haven’t tried creating my ones using this yet. If you have simple diagramming needs, its pretty fast & has no real learning curve, might be good for you. If you never create your own, or have need of special icons, this can be useful for you. Positives: The canned icons are interesting.
